In general, applicants will be admitted to this program if they have completed with good academic performance (average score equivalent to or higher than a B) a master's degree program in Economics and\/or Business<\/strong> that familiarizes the student with the main theoretical paradigms and empirical analysis methods of their specialization, having to accredit at least 6 credits in the following courses: Econometrics; Microeconomics or Finance; Business Economics at an advanced level.<\/p>

Furthermore, students from other master's degree programs <\/strong>that, in the opinion of the Academic Committee, enable them to successfully approach the Program, may be eligible for admission. Examples of this situation may be students coming from master's degree programs in Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics.<\/p>

In the instance that the applicant lacks the necessary previous training, the admission will be conditioned to the passing of specific training complements.<\/p>

The selection criteria for students will be based mainly on their academic record<\/strong>. In addition, the curriculum vitae<\/strong> as well as an interview<\/strong> with the candidate to assess their ability to express themselves in English, their knowledge of what a doctoral program entails, and their willingness to tackle it, will be relevant for the final decision on admission to the program. It will be highly valuable that the applicant has contacted a thesis director who has accepted to direct it<\/strong>.<\/p>

Os distintos aspectos mencionados concr\u00e9tanse no seguinte baremo:<\/p>

The different aspects mentioned above are detailed in the following scale:<\/p>

1<\/strong>. CV of the candidate (35%).<\/strong> The main aspects to be evaluated are those related to the applicant's Bachelor's and\/or Master's degree studies, as well as the official qualifications, courses and training activities received and\/or given, and the other activities and merits contained in the CV that the Academic Committee ( in a justified manner) considers most suitable for the development of the research activity within the framework of the research lines of the program. This section includes the opinion of the possible thesis director, where appropriate.<\/p>

2<\/strong>. Qualifications obtained in degree (10%) and\/or master's degree (15%).<\/strong><\/p>

3<\/strong>. Previous training in research (10%)<\/strong>: subjects of initiation to research and master's dissertation, participation in research projects or research contracts.<\/p>

4<\/strong>. Accreditation of language skills (15%).<\/strong><\/p>
